Through the Soil

I took the shape of your darkest thoughts

and became sick with purpose

the void had become my hiding place

while you watched me disintegrate

into a pile of biodegradable waste

but flowers grow well in fertile soil

and I was a garden

that your toxicity tended to

without even knowing
